Windom M. Foret, 99, a native and resident of St. Charles Community passed away on February 7, 2024.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland on Monday, February 12th from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Lirette; grandchildren, Allison (Keith Dufrene) Lirette, and Stephanie (Terry) Thibodaux; great-grandchildren, Katie (Jacob) Boudreaux, Ellie (Joseph) Hebert, Chloe Eagle, and Ava Eagle; step-great-grandchild, Jude (Julia) Eagle; great-great-grandchildren, Jaylie Boudreaux, Kinzlie Boudreaux, and Baylie Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellawave S. Foret; parents, Moise and Alexina Foret; brother, Sidney Richard; sisters, Baby Mabel Foret, Winnie Babin, Quoita Danos, and Ruby Gervais; granddaughter, Celeste Eagle; son-in-law, John Lirette.
Windom served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a member of V.F.W. Post 3665, Raceland American Legion Post 349, and Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 825.
