William H "Billy, Wild Bill" Newsom III, a native of Brenham, Texas, was born March 1, 1950 and lost his battle with brain cancer on Oct. 16, 2012.
Services to say goodbye to Billy will be held at Falgout Funeral home, Visitations will be Friday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. A farewell to Billy will be held at 10 a.m. with a motorcycle precession to Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Nancy; his son, Billy Joe Trahan and wife Becky Lyons, son Kyle Davenport and wife Mersadies; mother, Imagene Newsom Wells, sister Judith Pree, and his grandchildren who held his heart, Lauren White, Heaven Lyons, Hope Ann Trahan, Reese Davenport ANd Kyle Davenport Jr. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was proceeded in death by his father, William (Bill) Newsom Jr. and his grandson Hayden Paul Davenport.
Billy moved to Houma Louisiana at the age of 9. He was drafted into the Army in 1970 and honorably discharged in 1971.
He went to work in the oil field as a deckhand and from there he started driving crew boats in 1074.
He received his Captains license in 2004. Billy continued working for various companies as a crew boat captain. He retired from Cheramie Crewboat Inc. in 2009.
Billy's greatest pleasures were spending time with his family and friends, playing with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening, fixing anything, and the passion of his motorcycle.
He was an active member of the National Harley Owners Group.
