William “Bill” Joseph Guidry, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022. William was a native of Cut Off and a resident of Galliano. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano on June 3, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, LA.
William is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Annette Rousse Guidry of 64 years; daughter Cathy Guidry Charpentier and husband Wayne Charpentier; sons Nicky Guidry and wife Angela, Dwayne Guidry, and Eric Paul Guidry; Grandson Aaron Guidry and Great Grandchildren Hunter and Jace Guidry and Ian David; Grandson Alex Duke; Granddaughter Carley Charpentier Prejean and husband Cody and Great Grandchildren Addison and Annie Prejean; Granddaughter Anya Guidry and Great Grandchild Hayes Wurzlow; Granddaughter Lanie Charpentier Robert and husband Beau and Great Grandchildren Leigha, Lane, and Lillie Robert; Brother in Law Jim Gisclair and Sister in Laws Candy Guidry and Audrey Guidry. Brother and sister in laws Keith Doucet and wife Ann; Lanny Rousse and wife Wynn; Gerald Rousse and wife Donna. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Lorris Joseph and Hilda Lorraine Guidry; brothers John Guidry and wife Eugenie; Welton Guidry and wife Shirley, Dave Guidry; Michael Guidry; sister Rena Mae Gisclair; Father and Mother in law Cleophas Rousse and wife Bessie
William was an incredible man. He had a passion for the sea. He was a part of a generation of “Master Mariners” and was part owner of Lorris G. Towing and Morrison Machinery. He also loved LSU Football and enjoyed following the team and tailgating with family and friends for over 30 years. He loved woodworking in his shop and always gifted his loved ones with his work. Above all, he loved and cherished his family with all of his heart. William is now united with his family and welcomed to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
