William C. Roberts of Paradis, LA., passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2020 in New Orleans. Bill was born in Glen Cove, NY on July 22, 1949; 4th child, of Nelson & Monda Roberts.
He, along with five siblings; Andrea, Nelson Whitney, James, Monda and Lawrence, was raised in Stony Brook, NY.; a small quaint village on North Shore of Long Island. Bill experienced same freedoms; carefree environment akin to TV program; Mayberry. “Range free kids” before a name assigned.
Bill found same warm, inviting atmosphere in Louisiana, arriving 1976 and eventually settling in Paradis, LA.
He obtained his college degree from Stony Brook University (1971), and masters degree (creative writing) from City College of New York (1973). His education led to produce 2 publication; “An Isolated Case”, 1975, and “Stories on the Drift”, 1988. Other literary endeavors were; his poems and poetry readings at Maple Leaf Bar, launched publishing company; Piroque Publishing Co.
Bill’s professional endeavors followed his passions: hospitality and taxi driver to achieve degrees; numerous sales positions supplying products to Oil & Gas companies. He was currently working for Coastal Engineering.
He is preceded in death by parents, and Andrea (2017). He will be remembered fondly by his wife, Alba Lucia Aguirre Roberts and children, his siblings, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
A Funeral Service to be held January 21, 2021 at 10:00AM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 Rex Drive, River Ridge, LA., 70123. Due to local ordinance; social distancing and mask are required. The service will be livestreamed;
