Willard “Pat” Chatagnier, 89, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his longtime wife, Ruth J. Chatagnier; three sons, Randy, Kent, and Todd; along with two grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest Sr. and Rose Ledet Chatagnier; five brothers, William “Bill”, Willis, James, Earnest Jr. and Wilfred; and three sisters, Ancianna Belanger, Olivia Theriot and Rose Martin.
A veteran of World War II, Willard “Pat” Chatagnier was a long time member and past commander of both the V.F.W. and American Legion posts in Houma, and also a founding member and past president of T.A.R.C. in Houma.
