Wilbert J. Lasseigne, 84, a native and resident of Galliano, died on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, and on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will commence at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. A burial will follow in the Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rena Boquest Lasseigne; three sons, Brian Lasseigne and wife Glendia, Dean Lasseigne and wife Sarah, and Jack Lasseigne and wife Jill; two daughters, Donna Mousseau, Nicole Callais and husband Dexter; five brothers, Nolan Sr., Arsen Jr., Ivy Sr., Norby, Johnny Sr. Lasseigne; one sister, Myrna Blanchard; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arsen Sr. and Sisca Lasseigne; brother, Alex Lasseigne Sr.; two sisters, Augustine Martin, Gloria Lasseigne; and one great grandchild, Ruth Marie Lassigne.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a retired shrimper and Oil Field Worker and enjoyed 26 years of retirement.
