Weber Louis Callais, 98, a resident of Golden Meadow, passed away at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his companion, Gertie Cheramie; daughters, Emma Lois Randazzo, and Mary Guidry and husband, Norris; grandchildren, Keith, David, Scott, and Rick Randazzo, Dean, Greg, and Brad Blanchard, Tommy and Sharla Guilbeaux; 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pearl Bellanger and Velma Callais Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezime and Clara Callais; wife, Estelle Terrebonne Callais; daughter, Carolyn Griffin; and brothers, Abdon, Fornest, Joseph, Harris, and Inez Callais.
Weber was one of the first Alderman of the town of Golden Meadow, member of the Knights of Columbus and the Golden Meadow Rotary Club. He was on the Board of Directors for Citizens, Argent and Hibernia Bank. He enjoyed making trawls at Golden Meadow Net Shop and was the founder and president of Bayou Boat Rental. He enjoyed big game fishing, crawfishing his pond and loved visiting his camp in Grand Isle.
