Wanda Lorio Melancon
October 15, 1936 — June 18, 2022
Wanda Lorio Melancon, 85, a native of Hahnville, LA and a resident of Luling, LA, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at a later date.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Dufour (Mark), Charles “Chuck” S, Melancon, Jr. (Tonya), Susan Wiltz (David), Mark Joseph Melancon, Michael Melancon, Jessica Campbell, Amanda Dunn (Shawn); sisters, Theresa Muller, Brenda Bourgeois (Donnie) and Linda Nicholais (Peter); 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles Stirling Melancon, Sr.; son, Brent Melancon; daughter, Kim Campbell; father, Theodore Lorio; mother and step father Ada Millet Champagne and Dennis Champagne; brother, Lawrence “Alex” Lorie, and brother-in-law, Richard Muller, Sr.
Wanda was a talented drama teacher. She loved her students as her own. She loved each and every one of her grandkids and great grandkids and enjoyed every time they came to visit. It was a blessing to her. Although sick, she never complained and was always smiling and very appreciative of everything. She always said “I’ve lived a good life”.
