Wanda Marie Brunet, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her brother, Louis A. and wife, Luane Prejean Boudreaux; sister, Brenda B. Evans; sister-in-law, Renata Boudreaux LeBoeuf; nephews, Keith, Joey and Kenneth Tassin, Benny Boudreaux IV, Thomas Evans, and Dale Brunet; nieces, Patti, Mary, and Anita Tassin, Gina McDonald, Melissa Bachman, Stacy Nimmo, Elizabeth Powell, Julie Engeron, Amanda Larke, Loretta Murray, Jan Yakupsack, Kathy Butler, and Ann Knight; and godchildren, James Larke III, Gabrielle Engeron, Gavin Engeron, and Joseph Larke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harvey Brunet; parents, Benjamin J. Sr. and Mae Use Boudreaux; brother, Benny Boudreaux III; sister, Eris Aitkens Tassin; and brothers-in-law, Irvin Tassin and Ralph Evans.
She was a long-time employee of Louisiana Land and Exploration Co. and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Special thanks goes to the employees, staff, and special friends at the Oaks Nursing Home.
