Walton “Toto” Blanchard, Sr., 96, a native of Cut Off and resident of Galliano went to his heavenly home on November 15, 2021.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, November 22nd from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Walton “Bo” Blanchard, Jr. (Jade) and Keeland “Kiwi” Blanchard (Theresa); daughters, Thistle Callais (Donald), Regina Blanchard and Kelly Wunstell (John “Winnie”); grandchildren, Patches, Ashley, Christopher, Beau, Sarah and Ramie; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Katelyn, Kaden, David (D.J.), Serenity and Harper; brothers, Claude Blanchard and Roger Blanchard, Sr.; sister, Joyce Terrebonne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Pitre Blanchard; son, Jason Blanchard; parents, Abel, Jr. and Flerita Terrebonne Blanchard; brothers, Royce Blanchard, Douglas “Tattoo” Blanchard, Sr., Harry Blanchard and Abel Blanchard, Jr.; sisters, Peggy Honeyfield and Grace Cheramie.
He was a World War II Veteran, last charter member of the Larose VFW, member of the Golden Meadow American Legion and a Mason. He was a retired commercial shrimper. Toto enjoyed woodworking, watching football, playing pedro and spending time with his family.
