Walter Joseph "Pop" Bourgeois, 86, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Chauvin, died at 9:36 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
He is survived by his companion, Della Lapeyrouse; sons, Michael (Diane Pitre), Timothy (Marianne), and Jeffrey (Laura) Bourgeois; daughters, Carol Ann (George) Terrebonne, and Gloria (Russell) Andrews; brother, Jessie Bourgeois; sister, Bertha LaRose; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Thibodeaux Bourgeois; his parents, Walter E. and Marriet Louque Bourgeois; brothers, Gerald, Elton and Felton Bourgeois; and sisters, Rita Cambre, Shirley Bouvier and Elsie Bourgeois.
Falgout Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
