Virginia Durapau Nicholas

March 29, 1934 — June 1, 2022

Virginia Elvie Durapau Nicholas “Jenny”, 88, entered her eternal heavenly home on June 1st, 2022 at 3:43AM. As a lifelong resident
of Hahnville, Louisiana, she peacefully passed in the home
with her grandchildren, surrounded by much family love
in Kenner, Louisiana. Virginia will now reunite with many of her loved ones as she joins her parents, Marcel and Marceline Durapau
at the gates of Heaven, as well as all of her siblings, Marcel Jr., Nola Durapau Daigle, Robert, Walter, Charles, Marguerite Durapau Lauland, Richard Sr., Marie Durapau Parks, and Paul Sr., as well as her daughter, Jacklyn Nicholas Smolder, son-in-law, Lenny Smolder.
She is now reunited with the one and only love of her life, her husband, Earl John Nicholas Sr.

Virginia’s children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life, and now her legacy will live on through them. She is survived by her son, Earl John Nicholas Sr. (Anita); her grandchildren, Timothy Thibodaux, Peter Thibodaux, Jenny Thibodaux-Lips (Leon), Earl Nicholas III, Rachel Nicholas, Douglas Yennie (Carmen) Dawn Richoux (Gary); great-grandchildren, PFC Christopher Thibodaux, Jasaiah Lips, Riley Tate, Ashleigh Arita (Henry); great-great grandchildren, Olivia Arita, Isaiah Arita; many nieces and nephews who absolutely adore their “Aunt Jenny”, many friends and extended family who grew to love her
as she became “MaMaw” to all who came to know her.

Visitation will be on June 7th, from 4 -5PM for immediate family.
The family will receive family and friends from 5 -9PM
at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland.
A funeral mass will follow on June 8 with visitation starting at 9AM
and mass will start at 11AM, at Our Lady of Holy Rosery Church
in Hahnville on River Road and followed by a Christian Burial
at Holy Rosary cemetery in Taft, Louisiana.

Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff
of Ochsner Kenner Hospital and Compassus Hospice
for their loving care and kindness.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
To know her was to love her.
