Viola Griffin Cheramie, 88, a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Galliano, died at 8:22 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Lighthouse Worship Center in Galliano. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Cheramie; one son, Clark Joseph Cheramie and wife, Jennifer; one daughter, Ruth Cheramie Broussard and husband, Dennis; one brother, Gustave Griffin Jr.; and two sisters, Melva Griffin Guilbeau and Gladys Griffin Rebstock; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave Griffin Sr. and Celema Gisclair Griffin; and two sisters, Earline Griffin Cheramie and Priscilla Griffin Collins.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
