On February 5, 2021, Vincent Joseph Todaro, Sr., a devoted Catholic and loving father of seven children, entered eternal rest at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his late wife of 55 years, Clara “Honey” Williams Todaro. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 14 years, Lea Buras Todaro. He was a wonderful father to his beloved children: Virginia “Jenny” Sanderson (Terry), Vincent Todaro, Jr. (the late Mary Jo Todaro), Ruth Todaro Hunter (the late Jake Hunter), Charles Todaro, Sr. (Felicia), Margaret Zimmerman (Ricky, Sr.), Monica Todaro Jordan and Frances Dufrene (Mark). He had such amazing pride and love for his 33 great-grandchildren and two beautiful great-great grandchildren. Vincent was the son of the late Rosalino and Frances Todaro, and is survived by his loving siblings: Claude Todaro and Rosie Cressonie. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Tony Todaro, Josephine Landry, Lucy Vidonne, Mary LaFonte, Camille Todaro and Jack Todaro. Vincent was the rock of his family who taught his children to be honest, respectful, to make friends and have no enemies, work hard, and obtain their life goals. All of these things were easy to accomplish because he was the perfect teacher. His work ethic was incredible. He was extremely proud of his job as a Carman for 14 years with Missouri Pacific Railroad and the various jobs he held for 26 years of employment with Avondale Shipyard, until his retirement in 1992. His favorite activities were taking trips to the Silver Slipper Casino in Bay St. Louis, watching LSU and Saints football, and attending mass at St. Hilary of Poiters Catholic Church in Raceland, LA. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and sharing stories about his childhood and loved ones. He made an imprint on everyone’s heart that knew him – he will forever be missed. The seven siblings would like to thank their beautiful sister-in-law, Felicia Todaro, and niece, Laci Delatte, for the self-sacrifice and unbelievable care provided to their dad during the last four years of his illness. There is no way to adequately express in words, the deep appreciation and gratefulness felt in their hearts.
