Victoria Lafont, age 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 15, 2021. She was a proud lifelong native of Grand Isle. Victoria made her grand entrance into the world on January 28, 1961 and grew up surrounded by a large family who she loved dearly. Victoria was a force of nature-always the life of the party, never met a stranger, and willing to help anyone. She loved to dance, cook, and spend time with her loved ones. Her most recent hobbies included coloring and watching re-runs of old game shows with her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eustache Joseph Lafont and Pearl Santiny Lafont; her sister, Vanessa Lafont; and her longtime partner Gary Willingham.
She is survived by her daughters, Noelle Lafont Mendiola and Jondell Lafont-Garcia; her Godson, Logan Camardelle; her sisters, Constance Lafont Tillery, Darleen Brewer, and Kathy Hebert; her brothers Victor Lafont, Claude Lafont, Larry Lafont and Jay Lafont; and countless nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
A celebration of her life is being held at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church, Grand Isle on December 23, 2021. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Religious services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Our Lady of the Isle Cemetery.
