Verlie Zeller Whitman, 78, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church, on Tuesday, March 8th from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Verlie is survived by her husband of 47 years, William M. Whitman; sons, Charles A. Dufrene Sr. (Stephanie), William “Billy” Whitman (Greta), Michael Whitman; grandchildren, Bridget L. Mayet (Dale), Megan E. Thibodaux (Andrew), Codie N. Dufrene, Thomas Paul Whitman, Rachel Whitman, William Alan Whitman, George Henry Whitman, Emma Grace Dufrene, Charles A. Dufrene Jr., Nathan Whitman, Makinlee Whitman; great-grandchild, Parker Mayet; sister, Joyce Champagne and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Enola Zeller; sister, Virgie Broussard; daughter-in-law, Tracy Lynn Dufrene; godchild, Karen Broussard.
In lieu of flowers, donations to offset funeral costs.
