Velvet Najolia Comardelle

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Velvet Najolia Comardelle, who departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 57. She was born on July 26, 1966, a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, Louisiana. Velvet was a beacon of love, and compassion, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Velvet dedicated her life to her family, nurturing and supporting them with unwavering devotion. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her family, as she was a cherished friend and confidante to many. 

Velvet is survived by her loving children, Kayla Landry Owcarz (Charlie), Caymen Landry (Marcia), her husband Chad Comardelle, the father of her children Larry Landry Jr., her Mother Priscilla (Cookie) Rivet, her sisters, Kori Hebert (Tommy), Terran Najolia, Keri Gonzales (Alex), Gretchen Watford (Jason) and Stefanie Najolia who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Velvet was also a proud grandmother to Kayden, Isabella, Chen, Alice, CJ, Christian, little Caymen and Serena, who brought immense joy to her life. As well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews. 

Velvet was proceeded in death by her father Sylvan Najolia (Blackie), Grandfather Huey Rivet (Papi), Grandmother Yettie Saucier Rivet (Mimi), Uncle Kerry Rivet (KK) and Beau, her pup she affectionately called little baby. 

Velvet’s gentle smile, comforting words, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of her life will be held on July 20, 2024, at Saint Michael the Archangel, 15405 Highway 90, Paradis LA 70080. Immediate family at 9:30 am and public at 10:30 am with a Mass to follow at 11:30 am for all to remember the beautiful soul she was. 

Rest in peace, dear Momma. Your legacy of love and compassion will live on in all of us.
