Velma S. Gaudet, 91, a native and resident of Raceland, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Ruben J. Gaudet and companion Jaynel Pierce; brother, Camille St. Pierre, Jr.; sisters, Lois S. Gaudet, Enola S. Perret, Betty Ann S. Landry, and Diana S. Autin; grandchildren; Edgar Alan Gaudet, Sheryl G. Sicard, Donna G. Whipple, Janie Gaudet, Rebecca Guidry, Thomas Gaudet, Mary Pierce, and Patty Loupe; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Gaudet; parents, Camille St. Pierre, Sr. and Inez Foret St. Pierre; son, Merlin J. Gaudet, Sr.; daughter, Linda Ann G. Foret; grandchildren, Nick Gaudet, and Merlin Gaudet , Jr.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society, WOW and many other clubs.
Falgout Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
