Vanton Larousse, Sr.

Vanton LaRousse, Sr., 91, a native of Gheens and a resident of Des Allemands, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Religious services will be at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport, LA.
He is survived by his former wives, Kathy Dunn Folse, Lynda Powell Cornwell; sons, Vanton LaRousse Jr. (Laura), Jason LaRousse (Fara); daughters, Nellie Dempster, Dianne Crochet (Roy), Janet LaRousse (Travis), Anita LaRousse; brother, Nilton LaRousse; sister, Rita Delatte; 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louisiana LaRousse; sons Donald and Burk LaRousse; son-in-law, Adlis Dempster Sr.; 8 brothers; 2 sisters; 1 grandchild and 1 great grandchild.
He was a member of American Legion Post 316 of Des Allemands. He was also Campaign Manager for Sheriff Greg Champagne.
Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
