Tyler "Ty" James Dufrene, 17, a native and resident of Gheens, died at 1:53 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Corey James and Angela Sampey Dufrene; sisters, Reba, Rebecca and Hilary Yates; nephews, Sookie Poindexter and Jorden Mason; niece, Shayleigh Poindexter; maternal grandfather, Norris Sampey Jr.; and paternal grandparents, Terry and Lana Dufrene.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Phyllis Dufrene; maternal grandmother, Shillie T. Sampey; paternal great-grandparents, Hartward "Shnook" and Leona Matherne Dufrene; and maternal great-grandparents, Thomas T. and Bess D. Toups, and Thomas and Maude Sampey.
Tyler was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens.
