Tilman J. Eymard, a native and resident of Galliano, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011.
Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, with burial in the Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Rogers Eymard; two sons, Bradley Eymard and wife, Peggy, and Anthony Paul Eymard; four grandchildren, Kizzy Bailey and husband, Thomas, Jarett Eymard and wife, Rachel, Joshua Eymard and Reuben Eymard; and two sisters, Virgis Vega and Roubella Guidry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Agnolia Eymard; two brothers, Mark and Floyd Eymard; two sisters, Bernice Doucet and Hilda Guilbeau; and one grandchild, Colette Eymard.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
He loved gardening, cooking for family and friends, playing pedro and he enjoyed a hard day's work. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. His pride and joy was his shrimp boat, the "King of Kings."
