Thomas F. Cheramie, 88, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Paradis, died Friday, May 27, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile B. Cheramie; and two sisters, Beatrice C. Boyer and Melza C. Mayet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruger Cheramie Sr. and Eulucia C. Cheramie; five brothers, Bruger Jr., T.J., Hubert, Rudolph, and Morris Cheramie; and four sisters, Marion Gregoire, Espenence Martin, Pearl Poche and Yvonne Rebstock.
He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus Post 2409, VFW, American Legion Post 131 and on the board of St. Charles Hospital for 30 years, 25 years as Chairman.
