Thelma Prejean Boudreaux, 89, a native of Gray and resident of Bayou Cane, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Schriever. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No.2.
She is survived by her son, Albert P. Boudreaux Jr. and wife, Mary, of Houma; daughter, Tana Boudreaux Southerland and husband, Mike, of Bryan, Texas; grandchildren, Katie, Ty, Mick and Matt; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Boudreaux Sr.; parents, Philibert A. and Julia Sonnier Prejean; brothers, Herbert, Leon, and Henry Prejean; and sisters, Bessie Melancon, Euphemie Authement, Vivian LeBeouf and Anna Mae Hidalgo.
She was a proud homemaker who was a master at sewing, gardening, and bird watching. She was a devout Catholic with membership in Catholic Daughters of America, the Ladies Altar Society and the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. She will be greatly missed by an enormous family and scores of friends whose lives were touched by her love, generosity and her many talents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
