Tad Michael Plaisance, 45, a native and resident of Gheens, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shannon Marie Martinez Plaisance; daughters, Cecily Erin, Coleen Michelle and Cydney Elyse Plaisance; parents, Levy F. Jr. and Trudy Ann Rivet Plaisance; brothers, Lee Christopher and Jed Anthony Plaisance; maternal grandmother, Eunice Dufrene Rivet; mother-in-law, Brenda Toups Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Levy Sr. and Adelia Matherne Plaisance; maternal grandfather, Hewitt J. Rivet Sr.; and father-in-law, Anthony Martinez.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, doing carpentry, camping and fishing. He was a lifetime worker in the oilfield industry.
