Sterling Vincent Savoie Sr., 70, a native of Raceland and a resident of Houma, passed away on Sat., July 14, 2012 at 10:42 pm.
A visitation will be held Tues. from 5 pm. until 9 pm. at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma and on Wed. from 8 am. until service time. A service will be held at 11 am. on Wed. at Falgout Funeral Home with burial to follow at a later date.
He is survived by his children, Sterling "T - Boy" Vincent Savoie Jr., Crystal Savoie Gannon and husband Chad, Shane Michael Thibodeaux and wife Rochelle, Doyle Anthony Thibodeaux and wife Tanya, Corey James Thibodeaux; brothers, Murphy Savoie Sr., Nelson Savoie; eight grandchildren, Sara Robichaux Dupre and husband Tyler, Taylon Thibodeaux, Garrett Thibodeaux, Morgan Thibodeaux, and Hunter, Brody, Kyler, and Ryley Gannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Anthony Savoie and Beatrice Bourg Savoie; siblings, Paul Savoie, Arthur Joseph Savoie, Nellie Savoie Theriot, and Merlin Francis Savoie Sr.
He served in the Army National Guard as a sharpshooter. He was a truck driver, welder, and musician. He was a former lead singer in the band, Country Swingers, and he performed in various bands for many different events throughout his life. His hobbies included fishing, playing music, and telling jokes. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Cancer Society .
