Sidney Joseph Duet, 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Golden Meadow.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deanna Lafont Duet; two sons, Darren Duet and wife, Lynette, and Sid Duet and wife, Holly; daughter, Deanna Mary Lafont and husband, Michael Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Norma Lafont; sister, Anna Belle Lemasters; and five grandchildren, Carley, Austin, Jaelyn, and Jude Duet, Anthony "A.J." Lafont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Antoine Duet and Viola St. Pierre Duet.
He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a bank executive for 35 years; an Original Board Director of South Lafourche Leonard Miller Jr. Airport Authority; eucharistic minister; lector; and Parish Council at Sacred Heart. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and bowler.
