Sheron “Maw” Galiano Allemand, 80, a native of Westwego and resident of Cut Off passed away on August 19, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and teacher.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Larose, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Jude Allemand (Anne) and Joly A. Hebert (Robert); daughter-in-law, Dawn Allemand; grandchildren, Celeste (Lucas), Tommy (Trish), Parrish (Amy), Drew (Gabrielle), Sammy (Chelsey), Leah (Tyler) and Jamie (Bryan); great grandchildren, Gabe, Grant, Parker, Isla, Naomi, Harbor, Ella, Landry, Clay, Reid, Sylvie and Thomas; sister, Paula Hebert; sister-in-law, Gale (Louis) Leonard; brother-in-law, Claude Defelice and godson, Dexter Leonard.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harry Allemand, Jr.; parents, Landry and Odette Galiano; son Jace Allemand; sister, Bonnie Defelice; brother-in-law, Bobby Hebert, Sr. and in-laws, Harry Sr. and Enola Allemand.
Maw enjoyed going to the camp and loved cooking pain pain du for the grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her family. She always welcomed everyone into her home and loved her Bible study. She was an educator for 31 years who valued nurturing her students. She will be greatly missed by many.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Suites at Sugarmill Point and Haydel Memorial Hospice, especially Nurse Christy, for their love and compassion during this difficult time.
