God has a new Angel in Heaven, Shelby J. Dufrene has gained his wings and is now with his Heavenly Father and loved ones that have gone on before him. Shelby passed away peacefully at his lifetime residence in Des Allemands of over 89 years.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Des Allemands, LA. Religious Services will be at 11:00 am Friday with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Beverly Morgan (Ryck), Romona Adams (Lionel), Carlette Dufrene (Ricky); 5 grandchildren, Dawn Robert (Broozer), Jason Adams (Candy), Roddy Adams (Jessica), Lynell Danos (Jonathan), Kim Candies (Tim); 13 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Hector Dufrene, Jr. and Elvin Dufrene, Sr. and 2 very loving caregivers, Rosalind Lewis and for the past 2 years, Janine Chiasson.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Theresa Dufrene; son, Steve Dufrene; granddaughter, Melissa Dufrene; parents, Hector Dufrene, Sr. and Eunice Dufrene; brothers, Elmond Dufrene, Sr., Norman Dufrene, Sr., Vanisse Dufrene, Sr., Leo Dufrene and sisters, Ella Candies, Rose Wiggins and Leona Sandidge.
Pallbearers include, Jason Adams, Roddy Adams, Bailey Adams, Eli Adams, Cody Morgan, Peyton Robert, Logan Robert and Tony Austin Bourg.
Shelby was a God loving Christian and member of the Des Allemands Baptist Church. He loved family time and being around children. He also loved helping folks and will be missed by many.
