Selvida "Sed" Cheramie Plaisance, 91, a native and resident of Galliano, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Burgess P. Plaisance; daughters, Alverna P. Blanchard and husband, Leroy, and Anna Marie P. Delatte and husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Jade Blanchard, Mitzi Cantrelle, Dwight Blanchard, Dwayne Blanchard, Wade Plaisance, Chad Plaisance, Celeste Delatte, Jessica Dufrene and Maria Tucker; great-grandchildren, Victoria Cantrelle, Annalena Plaisance, and Jobe Dufrene; and brother, Nolis Cheramie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis J. Plaisance Jr.; parents, Eusebe and Theresa E. Cheramie; daughter-in-law, Christine Plaisance; grandchild, Dawn Plaisance; brothers, Sylvest, Orleans, Bienvenue and Linzie Cheramie; and sister, Elvida C. Duet.
She was a seamstress and die-hard sports fan who loved to bowl. She loved spending time at her camp in Fourchon with family and friends.
