Selma Marguerite Dufrene Plaisance

Selma Marguerite Dufrene Plaisance, 91, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Bourg, LA. died peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021 with family by her side.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Falgout Funeral Home-Lockport from 8:30AM until funeral time. (The rosary will begin at 9AM.) A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Savior’s “Little Church” at 201 Church St., Lockport, LA. at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Church cemetery.

She is survived by Sons - Jimmy Plaisance (Edith), Allen Plaisance (Anne) and Jody Plaisance (Cheryl); Daughters - Selma “Chee Wee” Oubre (Faron “Bayou”) and Maria Pender (Mike); and leaves a legacy of 22 Grandchildren and 56 Great grandchildren; 1 Brother - Abel “Jr” Dufrene, Jr, and Daughter in laws - Leslie Plaisance and Faith Plaisance

Selma is preceded in death by her Husband - Lindberg Joseph Plaisance, Sr., Sons - Lindberg “LJ” Plaisance, Jr. and David Plaisance, Grandson - Eric Hebert, Parents – Abel, Sr. and Elmire Gautreaux Dufrene, Daughter in law - Judy Plaisance, Brother - Voris “VJ” Dufrene, Sisters - Ella Mae Davaine and Rosalie Keller, Sister in law - Audrey Dufrene, Brother in laws - Johnny Davaine and Wilton Keller.

Selma’s family was everything to her. She enjoyed helping and taking care of others, music and saying her rosary and prayers.
