Ruven J. St. Pierre, Sr, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1932, to Rosamond and Ezola St. Pierre.
Ruven was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Adeline Thonn St. Pierre, and his children, Heidi Hellrich (Mark), Ruven St. Pierre, Jr., Melanie Melancon, and Scott St. Pierre (Sharon). He also leaves behind his sister, Molly Martin (Randy), four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad St. Pierre, his parents, and his brothers, Emray St. Pierre and Rosamond St. Pierre, Jr., his sister, Louday St. Pierre, and son-in-law, Jules Melancon.
Ruven proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean war and was stationed in Germany.
Ruven dedicated his career to welding and contracting, working tirelessly to provide for his family. In his free time, he found great joy in horseback riding and hunting, passions that brought him closer to nature and to those he loved.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to ACG Hospice for their compassionate care during Ruven’s final days.
Ruven’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church in Grand Isle on Friday, March 21, 2025, beginning at 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am, with a burial to follow at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
