Ruth Matherne

Ruth Matherne, 93, a native of Bayou Gauche and a resident of Larose, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Linda Toups, Patricia Loupe (P.J.), Donald Matherne (Florence), Loria Folse (Jacob) and Horace Matherne, Jr.; brothers, Wesley Matherne and Anthony Matherne; sister, Madeline Ockman; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace “Pete” Matherne, Sr.; parents, Tony and Flossie Matherne; brothers, Nelson, Wilson and Mack Matherne and sister Earline Estay.
She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
