Ruth Guidroz Lasseigne, 86, a native of Raceland, LA passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 11:30 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 pm with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.
Ruth is survived by her son, Todd F. Lasseigne, who lovingly stood by his mom throughout her battle with cancer; her sister, Millie Guidroz; sister-in-law, Eileen Guidroz and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard F. Lasseigne; parents, Harold and Mildred Guidroz; brother, Harold Guidroz, Jr. and Godchild, Mary G. Saunier.
She was an employee of Walmart, in Raceland, for 19 years. She loved meeting customers especially her time in the garden center. She loved to go to casinos in gulf coast Mississippi. She also loved to sew and take care of flowers in her garden.
Special thanks to Haydel Hospice nurse, Angie Ponson and aide Eva. Thanks also to home health nurse and family friend, Johnna Le, for her kindness and support to the family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
