Russel Guillot, Sr.

Russel Paul Guillot, Sr., age 80, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 15, 2017. He was a native of Raceland, LA and a resident of Houma for over 60 years. He was a former tugboat captain for Otto Candies. Russel was a member of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church in Houma. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed playing Bingo and Cards. He also loved watching old country western television shows. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his son, Russel Guillot, Jr. and wife Jewell, daughter, Adrianna Guillot, brothers, Nelson Guillot and wife Dorothy, Melvin Guillot and wife Kate, Denny Guillot and wife Dot, Ronald Folse and wife Faith, sister, Delores St. Pierre, grandchildren, Matthew Harvey and wife Heather, Benjamin Harvey, Jennifer Dugas, Phillip Dugas, four great-grandchldren, sister-in-law, Jill Guillot,loving companion Lollie Meyers and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Russel was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Breaux Guillot, wife, Brunella Verett Guillot, daughter, Orellia Guillot, brothers, Ray and Bobby John Guillot and sister Pearl Schwartz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Falgout Funeral Home, 211 Westside Blvd. in Houma from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales II Cemetery.
