Ronald Edward Gauthreaux, Jr., born on January 29th, 1943, passed away on September 26th, 2017 at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Kay Smith Gauthreaux and his son Rene' Emile Gauthreaux.
Son of the late Ronald Edward Gauthreaux, Sr. and Norma Quintana Gauthreaux. He was brother to Janet, Michael (Pam), Norman (Mary), Stephen (Mary Beth), Gerard, Carolyn Leicher (Michael), Daniel, Donald, and Miles (Robin). He was also preceded in death by a brother - Wade
Owen, a sister - Cynthia Ann, and a niece - Hallie Marie.
Other survivors include his uncle Mickey Quintana, his aunt and godmother Sister Mary Owen Quintana, a brother-in-law Louis Smith (Marilyn), and nieces and nephews - Laura, Julie, Mitzi, Alaine', Celeste, Jon, Ryanne, Stephanie, Edward, Shelbi, Anna Claire, Aaron, Hannah, Emma, and Trevor. Great nieces and nephews include Chandler, Mallory, Cole, Ali, Julia, Reagan, Kennedy, Katherine, Ryan, Cecilia, Kailey, Hunter, Peter V, Miriam, Colin, Alex, Andrew, Zack, and Cole. Two great great nephews Brandon and Abel.
A native of New Orleans, he grew up in Houma, LA, and resided in Paradis. He was a member of 3rd & 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Houma and served two terms as Grand Knight of Bishop John Neumann KC Council 5545. Graduate of class of 1960 St. Francis de Sales in Houma and of Nicholls University in Thibodaux. He served in Vietnam in 1966 & 67 with the US Army's 53rd Sig Battalion. Retired from Nexen Chemical Co.
Mr. Gauthreaux was a parishioner of St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Des Allemands, LA. Funeral will be conducted from there with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Raceland, LA.
