Roland J. Theriot, 80, a native and resident of Houma, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011.
A memorial and prayer service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon today at Falgout Funeral Home on Westside Blvd. in Houma.
He is survived by three sons, Jerome "Ducky" Theriot and wife, Julie, Bryan Theriot, and Howard J. Theriot and wife, Chantel; brother, Moise "M.J" Theriot and wife, Kandy; sister, Rose Marie Theriot Jacob and husband, Curt; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore "Sis" Plaisance; his parents, Moise J. and Olivia Chatagnier Theriot; brother, Charles B. Theriot; and son, Duane T. Theriot.
He was a veteran of World War II and was stationed in Germany. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Special thanks to Janice Callahan who took care of him in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
