On Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, Roland John Boudreaux, 68, entered the gates of Heaven. After a long battle, he is at peace and died peacefully with his wife, Brenda Boudreaux, at his side.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Domangue Boudreaux; father, Claude Joseph Boudreaux; brothers, Robert Steven Boudreaux and wife, Pilar, and Richard Paul Boudreaux and wife, Ludy; sister, Claudia Boudreaux Carter and husband, Arthur Carter Jr.; brother-in-law, Philip Bundy; nephews, First Sgt. Chad Michael Coston and wife, Amy, Theodore Boudreaux and Patrick Boudreaux; nieces, Misty Hotard and husband, Brian, Rachel Boudreaux and Britany Artice; great-nephews, Dien Anthony Coston, Cade Richard Coston and Carl Gerard Boudreaux III; great-nieces, Bethany May Coston and Andrea Hotard; godchildren, First Sgt. Chad Michael Coston, Theodore and Rachel Boudreaux, Royal Dupre Jr. and Ricky Guy; aunt, Wilma Boudreaux; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula LeBouef Boudreaux; grandparents, George Paul Boudreaux and Irene Bourg Boudreaux Crochet; step-grandfather, Wilfred Crochet; maternal grandparents, Augustine LeBouef and Celestine LeBouef; uncles, Willis Boudreaux, Wilson LeBouef Sr., Alvin LeBlanc and Royal Dupre Sr.; and aunts, Leona Dupre, Eunice LeBlanc and Leona LeBouef.
Pall bearers will be First Sgt.Chad Michael Coston, Theodore Boudreaux, Royal Dupre Jr., Ricky Guy, Robert Boudreaux and Dien Anthony Coston.
He was employed at Winn-Dixie food stores from the age of 16 until his retirement after 35 years of faithful service. He served in the National Guard and trained at Ft. Polk. He was honorably discharged from the service. He was a 1963 graduate of South Terrebonne High School with a 12-year perfect attendance record. He was a faithful Saints fan who loved to watch the game on television with the radio on for sound. He was also a faithful follower of the Buddy D show.
We, as a family, would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at TGMC, Tulane University, TRMC, Thibodaux Rehab Center, Fresenius Dialysis Center, CSI in Houma, all the therapists and home health care professionals who spent many hours working with him both in the clinic and at home.
God speed, my brother, until we meet again.
The family requests that visitors dress in Saints or LSU attire.
Falgout Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
