Roland Anthony Arcement Sr., 88, a lifelong resident of Lockport, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Holy Savior Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Euna Mae Bourgeois Arcement; one son, Roland A. Arcement Jr. and wife, Evelyn; five daughters, Patricia Scott, Julie Matherne and husband, Buddy, Mary Frances Louviere and husband, Pete, Mary Margaret Arcement, and Theresa Knight and husband, Dee Dee; one sister, Catherine Arceneaux; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ettienne Felix Arcement; his mother, Katherine Malbrough Arcement; brothers, Clarence, Russell, Wilbur and Guv; sister, Mildred Klien; one grandson, Baby Knight; sons-in-law, Michael W. Scott and John Wayne Bergeron Sr.; and one granddaughter-in-law, Dianna Scott.
He was a disabled World War II U.S. Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Lockport American Legion. He was a retired staff manager from American General Life (formerly National Life and Accident Insurance Co.).
He dedicated his life to God, his wife, Euna, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid duck carver and loved music, especially playing his keyboard. He loved to cook and bake, and always loved a good joke. He could repair anything from a rock to a rocket ship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Savoir Catholic Church or to the American Legion Post No. 83 in Lockport.
