Robert "Sherman" James, 69, a native of Brookhaven, Miss. and resident of Houma, died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. Religious services will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Betty James; mother, Dorothy Parnell; four sons, Dennis Hall and wife, Amy, Jerry Hall and wife, Karen, Tony Hall and companion, Patricia Faye, and Keith James and companion, Jo Guidry; two daughters, Wendy Bergeron and companion, Russell, and Cindy James and companion, Chad Sagona; four grandchildren, Seth and Karah James, Christian Bergeron and Morgan LeBlanc; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Brayden James; five step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Ray, Douglas, and Roland James; one sister, Patricia Ann Reese; two stepbrothers, Bryant and Phillip Parnell; mother-in-law, Gladys Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.G. James; son, Mike Hall; brother, Jack James; stepfather, James Parnell; father-in-law, David Oliver; and daughter-in-law, Terri Hughes James.
He was retired from Tetra Applied Technology. He was in the U.S. Army.
