Robert “Bobby” Farrell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Betty Scioneaux Farrell and their two cherished daughters, Chassidy Hokkanen (Greg) and Casie Tastet (Ferris). Bobby was the proud grandfather to Jenna Mayeux, Jacob Hokkanen, James Hokkanen, Kyler Tastet and Kohen Tastet, as well as his beloved great grandkids, Jayden and Jayson Mayeux. Son of the late James and Hilda V. Farrell, brother of Cynthia Brown, Jean Harvison, Tommy Farrell, the late Jimmy, Wayne, Johnny, Glenn, Gary Farrell and Barbara Durham.
He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, sharing stories and creating lasting memories. Bobby was known for his deep love of family and his passion for time spent on the water. An avid crabbing enthusiast, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fishing with his grandsons or sharing meals made from his catch. As the owner of Busy B’s Seafood, he dedicated his life to providing fresh quality seafood to the community he adored.
In addition to his many years in the seafood business, Bobby was also a successful residential contractor, building homes for his own family and later for victims of Katrina and subsequent storms on the Northshore. He was a property developer, having developed a subdivision which he subsequently sold so that additional homes could be built to satisfy the growing need for residential property in that area. Bobby also built and operated an apartment complex for many years on the Northshore in order to continue to provide affordable homes for many individuals.
Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, laughter and unwavering devotion to his family will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor the legacy of a truly remarkable man.
