Robert "Pops" J. Dufrene, 69, a native and resident of Cut Off, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Bruce Dufrene; children, Scott Dufrene and wife, Danita Parra Dufrene, Paige Dufrene Balderas and husband, Steve, Jeff Dufrene and Amy Brunet Dufrene; grandchildren, Jolie Balderas Polson, Halen Dufrene, Nicholas Balderas and Jodi Renee' Dufrene; sister, Lois Dufrene Terrebonne; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junius Dufrene and Elvida Pitre Dufrene; and brothers, Roy Dufrene and Jimmy Dufrene Sr.
He was Catholic. Mr. Dufrene enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids and family.
