Robert "Bob" William Bateman

Robert “Bob” William Bateman, age 86, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. He was a native of Cut Bank, MT (raised in Pettus, TX) and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma on Sunday, October 9, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Monday, October 10, 2022 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Genevieve “Jenny” Gaudet Bateman; son, David W. Bateman and wife, Jeannie; daughters, Susan Bateman May and husband, Michael, and Peggy Bateman Daigneault and husband, Jerome; son-in-law, Vern Hutchinson; brothers, James “Jimmy” Bateman, Richard “Dicky” Bateman, Barry Bateman and wife, Linda, and Michael O’Brien; sister, Lynda Bateman Davies and husband, Brad; grandchildren, Katrina May Niland and husband, Dave, Daniel May, Rusten May and wife, Lacee, Timothy Bateman and wife, Kathleen, Robert Bateman and wife, Kathryn, Andrew Bateman, Clair Daigneault Pepper, and Trevor Daigneault; and 8 great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William Kermit Bateman and wife, Mildred Johnson, and Wilma Harbaugh O’Brien; and daughter, Debra Bateman Hutchinson.

Bob retired from Texas Pipeline. He enjoyed fishing, camping, square dancing with the Knight Twirlers, and spending time with family and friends.
