Rita Loupe Matherne, 88, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died on Friday, January 22, 2016.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until service time on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday in the funeral home parlor with burial to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands.
She is survived by her son, Faron P. Matherne (Wilma Gaudet Matherne); sister, Lena Loupe Seller; grandchildren, Nathan Matherne (Megan Chestnut), and great-grandchildren, Grady and Arlie Matherne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Joseph Matherne; parents, Anicet and Alida Loupe; brothers, Taylor, Lester, Brand, Clarence, Dudley, and Lucky Loupe; and grandchild, Aaron Matherne.
She was a true description of a mother who loved her grandchildren.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
