Richard Anthony Gaubert, a native and resident of Luling, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 with his loving wife of 52 years, Dianne Poché, by his side.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, where he was a faithful parishioner. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Bernard C. Francis, his "brother" in Christ, officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Poché; sister, Mabel Gaubert; brother-in-law, Keith (Duenna); sisters-in-law, Sherril Phillips, Lisa Tobin, Lillie Gaubert; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Veronica Naquin Gaubert; brothers, Wallace, Edward, Sylvester "S.J.," Ernest, Carroll, and Raymond; and sisters, Elis Falgout, Vivian Gaubert, Alma Gaubert, and Enid Holibaugh.
In addition, he leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him for his generous, loving and selfless ways.
Richard served as assistant director of St. Charles Parish Hospital for 30 years.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurse practitioners and staff of Ochsner-Kenner for their loving care and support during the past weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial Masses in his name are preferred.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
