Richard N. Bollinger, 85, a native and resident of Lockport, died at 7:58 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 in Lockport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Falgout Funeral Home, 600 Church St. in Lockport and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with interment in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Roberta Ann Dickerson and husband, Lawrence Clifton Dickerson III, Julienne Ruth Bollinger, Mary Claire Closs and husband, Timothy, Aimee Beth Latas and husband, Robert; and grandchildren, Lawrence Dickerson IV, James Dickerson, Chelsea, Carlye, and Curran Latas; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Lydia, and Quinn Dickerson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice "Bunny" Blanchard Bollinger; son, Richard Newell Bollinger Jr.; parents, George and Etienette Daviet Bollinger; and siblings, Ralph, Donald, George Bollinger, Georgia Boyd, Mabel Toups and Belle Holekamp.
He was president Emeritus of Bollinger Shipyard, Lifetime member of the Lion's Club, SNAME, ASNE, Board member of Lafourche Parish Water District, past Alderman of Lockport, and Man of the Year of Propeller Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Vandebilt Catholic High School, Holy Savior Catholic School and Church, Central Lafourche High School or Memorial United Methodist Church.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
