Richard P. Bergeron, 55, a native of Westwego and resident of Paradis passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 after a long battle with health issues.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20th from 11:30 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.
Richard is survived by his son, Greg Bergeron; daughter, Breanna Long Johnson (Nick Johnson); step-son, Marty Hernandez; sister, Stormy Hope Bergeron.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Felton Pete Bergeron; mother, Dianna Marie Daigle; son, David Bergeron and Dale Bergeron; brother, David Bergeron.
Richard spent the last 6 months of his life living with his daughter Breanna Long Johnson and son-in-law Nick Johnson. He loved fishing, arts and craft, telling stories and doing mischievous things with Marty Hernandez. Although he may not have been the most up to date with technology or the most book smart, he was skilled in many other ways. In his prime he spent time picking up skills like mechanics, many artistic abilities, construction jobs, and working on boats with his good friend Micki. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix or “rig” anything. He loved to make things and help when he could. He held so much love and wouldn’t think twice about giving you his last dollar. He would give even if it meant he was left with nothing. He will always be remembered for the joy, laughter, and love he brought and will forever be loved.
