Raymond Joseph Melancon, 85, a native and resident of Cut Off, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Friday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lefort Melancon; son Tommy (Ann) Melancon; daughters, Carla Melancon, Lorna (Tony) Eymard; grandchildren, Misty, Braeli, Braden, Natalie; great granddaughter, Aaliyah and brothers, Chester and Loyman Melancon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Melancon; parents, Jules and Odile Blanchard Melancon and sisters, Linda Thibodaux and Doris Casbon.
Raymond was a former Police Jury member. Member of the Lafourche Parish Cattleman's Association; Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society; member Levy District, Lafourche Parish Drainage District #1. He was also the co-owner of South Lafourche Crawfish Farm and co-owner of Highland Subdivision.
