Ray “Ray J” Eschette, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away on May 27th at the age of 66.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for family, and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the public at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport. Visitation will also be held at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church on June 3rd, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for family, and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a Mass to follow and interment in the Holy Savior Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lola T.B. Eschette; daughter, Rayla Eschette; son, Ashton Eschette, II and daughter-in-law Caroline Eschette; three grandsons, Ethan Clement, Chandler Eschette, and Bennett Eschette.
To include extended family, both living and deceased; parents, Ashton Eschette (Marion), father-in-law and mother-in-law, Duffy Bouvier (Enola), two sisters, Diane Lirette (Roland), Lee Ann Loupe (Mike); four brothers, Robert Eschette (Kris), Raymond Eschette (Iris), Richard Eschette (Connie), Russell Eschette (Ann); in-laws, Alfred Bouvier (Jeannette), Georgia Dufrene (Robert Sr.), Laura Danos (Robert Danos), Paul Bouvier (Sandra, Peggy, Bonnie), Susie Robichaux (Timothy); two surviving aunts, June Orgeron, Thelma Eschette; godchildren, Jimmie Ledet, Regina Chustz, Jonathon Freese; in memory of deceased nieces and nephews, Corky Dufrene (Andrea, Charmaine), Penny Dufrene, Brook Bouvier, Ramona Douglas, Rebecca Bouvier; and numerous other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Ray retired from truck driving after 45 years. He was a retired United States Navy Veteran. He enjoyed time with family traveling on family vacations in and outside the U.S. He loved quality time with family while watching T.V., movies, and listening to music. He also loved being in the Navy abroad with his Navy buddies. He will be greatly missed.
Lola would like to thank their family, especially her nieces and nephews, and Bollinger work crew family for the constant prayers and help throughout their trying time.
