Ray "Shomp" Champagne

Ray “Shomp” Champagne, 77 a native and a lifelong resident of Raceland, La. passed away on Thursday August 12, 2021.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 17, 2021 from 12:00pm until service time at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00pm. Mask mandate is in effect per the Archdiocese of Houma- Thibodaux.
Ray is survived by his sons; Troy Champagne and Lonnie Champagne, grandchildren; Matthew, Skyler, Slade and Sawyer Champagne, special friend; Hazel Allemand, brothers; Albert and Tilden Champagne, Jr., sisters; Joyce Hebert, Gayle Theriot, Christine Brubaker and Gertie Chiasson.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; Tilden P. and Olga Fremin Champagne, brothers; Patrick Stanley Champagne and Lewis Guy Champagne.
In lieu of flowers donation are preferred to the kidney foundation.
Ray was a sugarcane farmer.
