Ramona P. Williams

Ramona P. Williams, 91, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on Thursday, July 25th, 2024.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, July 27th 2024 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, in Golden Meadow, from 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial following in the Church Cemetery.

 

Ramona is survived by her children; Jacqueline “Jackie” (Bruce) Ponson, Rebecca “Becky” Rogers, Suzanne “Suzie” (Jerry) Douget, Geraldine “Deanie” (Richard “Ritchie”) Gremillion, and Rodney (Jill D.) Williams; grandchildren, Scott Ponson, Chad Ponson, Jennifer P. (Louis) Pontiff, Jacquelyn P. (Shane) Duplantis, Lauren H. (Jared) Catalano, Betsy H. (Mark) Dufrene, Gregory (Brittney) Hunter, Joni Gremillion, Kati Gremillion (Kyle) Fischer, Benjamin (Cheri) Williams, Bryce Williams, Brock Williams, and Ard Rogers Jr., 22 great grandchildren, and sister, Rita Plaisance Guidry.

 

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cleo Williams; daughter, Jennifer Suzanne Williams, grandchild, Kris Danos; parents, Eves and Augusta Plaisance Sr.; siblings, Alzina Gisclair, Norman Plaisance, Irene Griffin, Eves Plaisance Jr., Augustin Plaisance, Irma Hartman, Herman Plaisance, Landon Plaisance and Ernest Plaisance; son-in-law, Arden “Punkin” Rogers.

 

Ramona, better known as Granny, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a devout Catholic who was extremely active in her church. She was a member of the Ladies of La Salette, Eucharistic Minister and Pre Cana-Marriage Prep. One of her proudest moments was receiving the Governor’s Leadership Award for the Girl Scouts of America. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, traveling, crabbing and trawling. Her greatest pleasure in life was cooking and feeding anyone and everyone who entered her home, especially her family.

 

Mrs. Ramona’s family would like to thank her caregivers and staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice, especially Angie Ponson, Mandy Gisclair and Tracy Doucet, for the care and compassion provided and Father John Nambusseril for his visits with her.
